Other I've used (about 6 other models- not Ocean Kayak)ġ- the paddle keeper is located in an awkward place. I have flipped in this kayak more than in any The lack of stability has not stopped me. I weigh 170, so it's not a matter of being overweightįor this kayak. Venus 11 a little more unstable than most Ocean Kayaks I'veĮxperienced. Unstable- I was surprised to find a rounded bottom that makes the Research versus actually trying out the Venus 11. I love my Venus 11 kayak! I purchased from ACK (very pleased They need to change that and go back to a removeable seat!! I plan on passing my dismay of the attached seat to OK. Even though OK changed the seat, they kept all the grommets (not sure what they are called) to attach seats to so my old seat will work. If all else fails, I will cut the seat out and use the one I have. The ONLY reason why I did not give this one 5 stars is because it came with a seat that cannot be removed!!! Seriously? What is Ocean Kayak thinking?!! I am going to try it with the attached seat and see how I like it, but my main concern is how it will hold up during transport, etc. It took a month to get here but I expected that. Finally, I found one in the color I wanted and I think it was the last one everywhere.
Covid has interrupted the supply chain so it was hard to find one (except the disgusting pepto bismal pink color).
But it was time to purchase a new kayak and I was not going to get anything but another Venus 11. I am a single female that loaded it on top of my Jeep Grand Cherokee all by myself with the help of a Yakama Evo boat loader, all because the Venus 11 is only 44 pounds!!! Besides the weight, the Venus 11 is fast, manuvers well and tracks straight. I used it on both lakes and class II - III rivers several times a month. I owned a Ocean Kayak Venus 11 for over 15 years.
